2ND QUARTER MEETING

CHERRY CREEK STATE PARK 3/19/05

 

Meeting was called to order at 12:00 noon

Secretaries report was accepted as posted

Treasurers report shows  a total of 18,621.42 split between the state team fund of 9778.42 and the general fund of 8843.00

Casting Kids finals were March 6th with Rachel Anderson winning the 7-10 class and Dan Sawyer winning the 11-14 class

Conservation

There is a posted report on the web site. Jeff requested more partisipation, he explained the process that gets issues noticed involved bodies being present and the number of voices for a particular issue makes a difference. The license fee increase has passed the house and should pass the senate. Habitat stamp will be requires for entrance into any state park regardless of what your there for. Chris Kinley recapped a issue at Valencito res. regarding un protected smallmouth bass.

Tournament Director

State team members need 300,000 dollar liaibilty insurance. A motion was made and seconded to make the federation requirement for liability insurance 300,000 dollars. This passed and was made effective for 1-1-2006.

According to Don Corklan, No angler may attempt to qualify for two seperate state teams in the same year.

A discussion of having a odd number of boaters  this year raised the question of needing a observer. It was discussed that someone new may want to go, but not want to pay to compete above their level. It was decided that any such person could call Dave Lishman to become a observer. Potential travel and lodging reimbursement was discussed with no final outcome.

CBF Appreciation Day  7/9/05  Horsetooth Res. 7am to Noon, Lunch to follow.

Jeff made a list of Possible invitees. Must RSVP by 6/1/05. CBC will arrange for Sub Sandwiches for Lunch. E-mail to Jeff anyone who will be a boater.

A discussion of how to increase membership created a Publicity Committee with Shaun Hinton, John Farrar and George Leonard as members.

2007 Divisionals

Brian Myers contacted the Indian Reservation about Acting as host but received no return call.

New Business

·         There will be three tournament circuits for BASS in 06, they are the Bass Masters Memorial Circuit, The Bass Masters Legend Circuit, and The Bass Masters American Circuit.

Concerning the BASS headquarters move, some of the current staff wil move to Orlando, some won't. There will be a new division added making a total of 6. The new division is the Mid Atlantic Division.

John Discussed the current Boat Manufacturer/Federation Contract, and possible changes. It was recommended to stay with a non-exclusive contract that John will sign. This type of contract is available from most boat manufacturers.

Jeff Jones passed out a proposed by-laws change. It was approved to take this proposal to the club level to discuss.

Third Quarter meeting will be at Mcphee Reservoir Near Dolores Co. August 20th at 12:00 noon. There will be a one day tournament Sunday the 21st. Contact SWCBM for details.
