1ST QUARTER STEERING
COMMITTEE MEETING
CHERRY CREEK RESERVOIR HEADQUARTERS
Meeting
called to order at
Discussion of the E-mails from Al Smith. Referencing making a “paperclub” for federation members that wish to compete in federation tournaments but do not wish to join a club.
The general feeling from the information provided is that ESPN (Who recently purchased BASS) does not care for the federations, and a general fear that the federations may cease functioning in a few years. These E-mails were passed out for club consideration. It was felt that if the federations do not become a feeder of participants to the opens, they might cease to exist.
John asked for a motion regarding the proposed by-laws change requiring a club to attend at least one meeting a year to remain in good standing. This was discussed briefly, and the general feeling was that we need not discourage participation from any club. It was felt this change might do more harm that good. A motion was made, seconded and passed to kill the proposed by- laws change.

Tournament Directors Report:
First off Ken Harris’s address has changed it is now P.O. Box 19927 Colorado City Co. 81019. Phone # is 719-676-2754. We have secured all lake permits for the dates needed. There is a release boat available for a fee of $500 for Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is not available. Ken will check into this to see if it is an option.
There was a question raised about rule #16 regarding Stringer systems not being allowed. It was explained that single float systems such as cull-em-right systems using a single float per fish are legal. Balance beam type systems or systems attaching multiple fish to a single device are not legal.
Web Site:
C.D. presented a bill for payment for web hosting. This was motioned seconded and passed.
Old Business:
KBAA proposal asking for support of not holding weigh in tournaments in July or August In Kansas. The federations as a whole DOES NOT endorse this proposal. It leaves it up to the clubs who can, if they wish, refrain from weigh in tournaments during the aforementioned time frames.
Copies of the By-laws were distributed.
We want to welcome Greeley Bass Anglers to the Colorado Bass Federation. Jay would ask that they forward their information as soon as possible to him for roster inclusion.
New Business: The proposed by-laws revisions were killed in Steering Committee. The tournament schedules provided to date were discussed and a master schedule was made. (See Attached)
